Bad Points
They overcharge you for "free" calls
Staff are rude.
You phone the customer services number only to be told this is the wrong one, then are put through to another dept, which is also the wrong one....need I go on?
They still charge you after your contract has been terminated.
They don't contact you to tell you that you are in credit.
They misinform you about money which is "not going to be taken out of your account" but then is.
They make you livid.
General Comments
I started a contract with Singlepoint in March 2003. I wrote a letter after 12 months saying that I would like to cancel my contract. I unfortunately didn't do this within the 30 days before the end of the 12month contract so I had to pay another months rental, which was fair enough as it was my mistake. I then get a bill each month for 3 months after for £0 - strange I thought as they are wasting money sending out bills for customers which aren't theirs anymore. Then in June I get a bill for £14.99 out of the blue. I phone customer services and they apologise and say the money won't be taken out of my account. On June 22nd, the money WAS taken out of my account. I phone customer services again (on three different numbers I am given) and they said that I am owed money by the company. How was I supposed to get my money if I didn't ring the company (ironically costing me money). And how many other people is this company conning?? I have since noticed that my "free" calls have also been charged for. I am absolutely appalled that I should have to watch every move that they make, and have to get in such a state over this. I am now contacting all the review companies that I can think of, to tell potential customers that this is NOT a reputable company.

You have not stated which network your contract was on so this could be wrong but here is what I think has possibly gone wrong.
March 2003 Singlepoint was still owned by caudwell so O2 contracts would be available.
If you had an O2 contract and tried to end your account approx. 12 months after this (march 2004) then a little investigating into this matter would show you that there was a fire in an O2 centre in Manchester that destroyed some servers/databases, this resulted in customers who had terminated appearing to have terminated properly receiving bills for 0 then suddenly a bill appearing from no where and the account not being closed, Singlepoint quickly resolved the issue when it was made aware to them going through the thousands of accounts affected, if this was your case then I agree that lack of communication was bad.
In my time as a singlepoint employee I have never came across a billing query that has been wrong on singlepoints behalf would have been great to deal with your account as I feel I could really have helped you out in explaining the bills (not the best layout I agree).
