Good Points

Peaceful, friendly farmer, fantastic sea view, dolphins, cuddly farm animals, nice beach nearby, ideal for couples or families.

Bad Points

Toilets / showers basic (hired, but will be replaced if site is successful, which it will be), probably not suitable for disabled visitors.

General Comments

My girlfriend and I found Nant-y-Croi Farm by chance while looking for somewhere to camp and we could not have been more delighted. The first thing to strike you is the amazing sea view, which is excellent from the field we were camping in and unbelievable from the little cove at the bottom of the farm. From here, we watched a family of dolphins playing in the sea. Apparently seals are often around, too. The farmer, Gordon Thomas, is such a nice bloke that you feel at home right away. He's a beef farmer, but keeps donkeys, pigs and a pony as family attractions. Pony rides are available for kids for £2, if I remember correctly and you can also get a guided tour on the back of his quad bike in pairs for a few pounds. The nearby beach (about 20 minutes walk) is also lovely.

We spent a week camping in Wales but this place was like nothing else. We had 2 very peaceful and lovely days here and would highly recommend it to couples and young families, though to get the best from the place you'll probably need to be a little on the active side (i.e. be prepared to walk across a few fields now and again). While we were there, the facilities were fairly basic (hired to gauge demand for camping facilities), although I think they're planning to improve these depending upon demand. This is a very small price to pay.

Electric hook-up is available. The site also has B&B cottages which looked lovely from the outside!

We paid £7.50 a night for a medium sized tent. I would happily have paid more.

For a peaceful, hassle-free couple of days, I don't know of anywhere better.
