General Comments

I acquired this Nissan Micra 1.0 LS car in January, and I have to say, I didn't choose it, my parents did, and I was a little put-off when i saw it.

It came with a cassette player and weak speakers, which I replaced with a CD and better speakers. This was tough, as the door trim is very weak, and is like cardboard around the speakers.

I only experience problems with this car when going up hills and fully loaded. It does struggle a bit in terms of acceleration but this can usually be overcome by a quick gear change.

The boot in my model has no base, there is just a plastic trim sheet covering the spare wheel. This makes loading a bit tricky, expecially with fragile items. The parcel shelf strings have snapped, and one of the hinges has broken too.

All in all, this is a nice little car, and it is very reliable, though it does splutter on winter mornings, it always starts.

i have a nissan micra lx 1993 which by the sounds of it is very similar to yours.... i have had speakers fitted in the rear very easily and they sound great. my boot is big enough for a subwoofer AND a little bit more luggage (although now i can't really get to my spare wheel but the base of my boot is the same as yours and my subwoofer is fine (and it has glass front). she is a very nippy little car i have no trouble with the acceleration and the strings and hinges to my boot/parcel shelf are tough rubber and are not easily broken.... i haven't had one bit of trouble with this car and she is an easy 13 years old and is more reliable than my mum's car which is only 3. no trouble in winter whatsoever and really cheap on petrol. so maybe it just depends on how the car is treated in its lifetime.... unlucky mate.
