General Comments

I bought the Performance Power hedge trimmer because it seemed like good value for money, I also bought a Performance Pro chain saw. The hedge trimmer started leaking petrol. This is because the rubber grommet in the petrol tank around the fuel line was no longer petrol-proof. When I dismantled it to find the problem, I found for example that the throttle cable mechanism is also poorly designed. It appears that the company have tried to bring the product in at too low a price and have compromised on the design and quality. It comes with a three-year guarantee and it looks like that is how long it has been designed to last. Better to save up a bit more money and buy a hedge trimmer that will last you a life-time.

Does anyone have contact details for Performance Power manufacturers? I rescued a PP petrol mower from the skip at my local dump, and I have repaired the engine mountings which were plastic and far too weak for the job. I think it will probably run OK, as the engine itself is the same make (Tecumseh) as on my Qualcast mower, and that has been very reliable over the last 8 years. However, I need a grass box for the PP mower and I can't seem to find anywhere that sells the garden equipment today...
