Virgin Records is one, if not the biggest CD retailer in Birmingham. 2nd only to HMV maybe. It has everything you would want in a CD/DVD store. From Abba to Gary Numan, from Blondie to ZZ Top, and back again
The Birmingham city centre store suffers maybe from bad lighting. I don't find it very inviting, it's a little dark in places, there are a few murky cornersyou daren`t venture into. It's maybe due to the store's layout
Virgin Megastore is a good store for CDs, DVDs and magazines. It even has 12" and vinyl albums. (Ask your dad, he will explain what they were). Its CDs and DVDs are all set out alphabetically, thats A to Z, from Abba to Zappa. Its a big name in music and vision, so has a reputation to keep. Its biggest rival must be HMV, which, personally, I prefer. Virgin Megastore has a slight "interlectual" feel about it. You feel like you have to have a masters degree in music just to enter the store, whereas HMV, anyone can walk in, and browse, you feel a little like you are being marked on Looks, Musical Knowledge, etc., when you enter Virgin records.
