General Comments

I and two others went to this "Sea Star Hotel" in June 2004. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone apart from those seeking bad food and no fun. None of the advertised restaurants were open. The disco was empty. They advertise cocktails but did not know or have the ingredients to make anything but a screwdriver. Spent most of the time at the Hilton in Taba, the sea star run a free bus, mostly whenever you like. The driver is happy to stop at the shop on the way back so you can buy some sweets, choc, juice, milk etc. Take care with the buffet as all of our party suffered terribly with the runs, even though we were very careful, and in fact everyone that I spoke to had suffered, some worse than others. But you have to eat, and I would recommend that you only eat hot food and steer clear of the salads at all costs. We lived on bread and butter and chips mostly. Also make sure to take all medicines etc as you cannot buy it out there. Take the trip to Eilat it is excellent and it gives you a chance to eat some real food for sustenance. Also, do the Bedouin trip, but make sure you take small change in denominations of 5 and 10 Egyptian pounds for the Bedouins handicrafts and the boys that lead the camels.
The food on the Bedouin trip was the best that I had tasted and it was cooked in the middle of the desert by a boy that couldn't have been older than 14, it was hot, fresh and tasted very good.
This was definitely not a three star hotel and not for anyone under pensionable age.
