Well equipped with all the luxuries
Very fast, with a chassis to match
Brakes very good as standard
Six speed gear box
People don't realise the power it has!
Still a good looking car
Heavy fuel consumption(when driven hard)
Flimsy bodywork picks up car park 'dings'
Steering lock is embarrassingly bad-caused by the six speed 'box'.
The Peugeot 306 2.0 16v GTi-6, hot hatch of the 1990s?
A subtle car, few realise that beneath its bonnet lies an 167bhp monster of an engine, with a six speed box to compliment it. The 306 is well regarded as a good all round hatch that handles and drives superbly. A '6' takes this a level higher with great road holding, responsive steering and fantastic brakes. What really makes this such a great car is the whole package. A car capable of keeping up with 20+k sports cars, but also having (half)leather seats, air-con, 6 disc cd and all the other mod cons. For myself i enjoy the fact that few realise how powerful it is, only the dished 15" alloys, side skirts and discreet '6' badges give the game away. A word of caution-maintainance is essential, particulary on replacing the cam belt. Many owners have their enjoyment cut short when said belt fails at 45k or less!
