Good Points

Staff helpful and friendly, happy hour every night for three hours most drinks only a pound. It is mainly full of young Irish people who seem to sleep all day so plenty of sun loungers available all day. Bar and food served 24 hours and is reasonably priced.


Bad Points

It is quite a way from the beach right at the top of a fairly steep hill. Apartments were cleaned regularly but not properly. It is very noisy especially at night.


General Comments

We stayed at the Aphelandra Hotel Apartments for two weeks in July 2004. it is situated a bit out of the way up a big hill which can be a killer in the heat especially with a buggy to push. the apartments are ok basic but cheap so can't really moan. It is mainly full of single groups of people all young and Irish although this was not a problem for us. Pool is small but clean and plenty of sun loungers available all day. There is air-conditioning if you want to pay £3.45 for it for a day. It was a godsend but is only in the bedroom and it was either too hot or cold. Our toilet leaked slightly so I got on my hands and knees and cleaned it twice with Dettol, the shower was rubbish no water pressure and a disgusting curtain. The maids do change beds and towels regularly but our floor was filthy. on the good side I saw only one cockroach the whole two weeks and that was outside. someone nicked our England towel from the balcony and we weren't the only ones it happened to. at night the noise was appalling most of which came from neighbouring apartments.
