The house was very clean, well furnished and exceptionally well equipped. Great location, good for day trips both in the area of Siena and for the Maremma. Relatively cheap, definitely good value for money. Owners very friendly and helpful. The website (http://www.casinadirosa.it) provides truthful information. Great little village with an excellent restaurant. Very quiet off the beaten path.
Bad Points
You need a car, but that is generally the case everywhere in Tuscany
General Comments
Casina di Rosa is a holiday cottage in Civitella Marittima, a tiny village half way between Siena and Grosseto.
The house is composed of 4 rooms: a kitchen, a double bedroom, a living room and a bathroom with shower.
The house was incredibly clean and well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need to cook.
The owners were very helpful and greeted us with a welcome basket with wine, pasta and a sauce, and provided us with all the necessary information about the property, the village and the area, including maps and guide books.
The bedroom is furnished in old Tuscan style. The furniture is original. Towels and bed linen were provided and we had fresh flowers in the bedroom.
The view from the bedroom window is lovely.
The sitting room is comfortable and cosy and the bathroom is brand new and it was very clean.
The house has a little veranda with chairs and a table: we ate out on several occasions.
The village is nice and quiet, not touristy at all. It is in a good position to visit very different places.
There is an excellent restaurant in the village itself and we also received a €10 discount in another restaurant.
I would highly recommend this accommodation to everybody.
