General Comments

Beeman FH500: Hello my friends, I would like to apologise first for my English.

For the last month I have tried four different airguns based on same "engine":
MARKSMAN 1790 BIATHLON TRAINER,
MARKSMAN 1745SF,
LaserHawk Competition Air Rifle,
and of course the Beeman FH500.
I don't think this is an issue of my bad luck but this Beeman FH500 was a last drop.
1) First thing I've noticed, as soon I received the rifle, the inner barrel was BENT!!!, it looks ok from outside as it is covered by a metal exterior piece.
2)Superfluous oil inside barrel makes the gun smoke after the first shot. It looks cool though. I had to spend half an hour cleaning the bent barrel (I was just curious what's going to be next).
3) The accuracy really suffers because of wobbly barrel. After you load the gun, you can see how even a new barrel is wobbling, about 0,5mm up and down. Absence of secure barrel locking mechanism makes shots float about 5" by elevation with FIXED by holder fore-end, this is ridiculous! (distance was 22yards)
4) Scope is cheap, foggy, and you can not correct, wobbly barrel with a scope. as scope is mounted on "another part" of rifle.
5) two stage trigger is very hard to push and very often fails automatically to return to safety.
6) stock is extremely uncomfortable. I've got average hands, and I find that this is impossible to firmly hold stock and even reach by first incurvation of finger to trigger.
Quality of plastic is good, but shape is inconvenient. Stock of Beeman is in total
contrast with 1790 BIATHLON TRAINER (best stock I've ever seen)
7) Bottom line for all this makes this air gun is an inappropriate device especially for beginners.
very crude engine.
------
nice muzzlbrake though, but makes no difference.
