General Comments

Forget Fawlty towers, our latest visit to the Villa Sibillini kept us laughing for days.
Bear in mind that this is a family run hotel, with just David (Dad) and Georgina (daughter) and Mum (Pam) or Pam-Ella as she is called by the Italians and think of breakfast with Basil Fawlty in charge. What I wonder would he have said when an English guest demanded that her grapes be de-seeded and her plums peeled? It truly doesn't bear thinking about. Dave, true to form just shrugs and takes the offending fruit to the kitchen - duly peels the plums and de-seeds the grapes and hands the plate back to 'madam' without so much as a click of the heels or even a twitch of the lips!! Giggling in the corner, being kicked under the table by Paolo, (my husband ) in a vain effort to keep me quiet, I asked if the lady in question could maybe try to keep her children from running through the restaurant creating havoc. She didn't hear me sadly and with Paolo shooting me ominous glances, I decided I had better keep quiet.
Imagine then, the situation later in the day. The lady in question had decided to wash her undies and laid them out in the terrace area to dry! I asked David if he had been asked to do her washing as well, but apparently not. Besides, he was busy trying to get replacement pool equipment having had a guest break the cleaning tools. Don't ask!!
Georgina is terrific, she quietly handed me a couple of serviettes to wipe my eyes and stifle the laughs without anyone seeing her. Well done, and see you in September.
