Good Points

Good round taste with balance between malt and hops.

Bad Points

Factory processed - filtered, pasteurised and re-gassed.

General Comments

If you can't get draught Abbot, the Ale Strong Bitter is not quite the next best thing in bottled form. It is a good British beer and therefore does not have to be chilled (to hide the taste). However, the bottling process has virtually destroyed the delicate feel and flavours found in the original draught Abbot (an excellent drink!), although it is not too highly gassed. Though good, this is by no means the best bottled British beer.
