I've had my Philips 28PW6515 for two years and it's now virtually worthless. After 16 months a fault developed with the remote control receiver (not the handset), my TV engineer said this was a known problem with this model and it would cost £150 to repair. Without the remote I can't switch to different screen modes. Emailed Philips, in short they said hard luck, pay for it yourself. Now a further fault has developed which will not allow the DVD or Video to play. Needless to say I'm very dissapointed with this model as my previous Philips lasted 15 years!

I have to agree. A fundamentally good set ruined by one weak component - the "Painter Chip" - which unfortunately is the brains of the TV. These chips have failed in their thousands; MCES claim to have replaced 3000 and they are just one repair centre. These sets should have been recalled to replace the Painter Modules and Philips should have paid for the replacement.

Philips are a great make, the 32PW6509 is unbeatable, but the 28PW6515 and its big brother the 32PW6515 are both a disaster. Avoid like the plage.
