Clean clothes, extremely easy to use
Started to require manually setting to spin instead of spinning automatically - until it stopped spinning completely 2 1/2 years after first use.
Maytag Neptune Washing Machine - I have the stacked Washer Dryer MLE2000AYW.
For you information, each of the models has different characteristics and so it's really worth differentiating between models instead of classifying all models as the same.
It was only after having problems that I found this site and this really cool fix it site: http://fixitnow.com/2004/03/war-story-maytag-neptune-stack-laundry.htm
The fixitnow site gave me clues as to the problems the machine had. I found that my machine had a burnt out R43 resistor and a burnt out fuse on the motor control board. I replaced the R43 with parts from Radio Shack, but I had to replace the motor control board completely and the motor to fix the problem. I got these parts from:
http://www.repairclinic.com/0070.asp?Brand=4
Total parts cost: $240. (Labor I did myself) I view that as pretty reasonable given that's the only fixes I've done since we got it.
