Very comfortable, lightweight, have a flexible sole that allows for easy control of the board. If you never had a shoe with the waffle tread pattern, then you will not understand how awesome it is. They come in tons of colorways, you just have to look around. they are waterproof.
Since the sole is thin, you can bruise your feet easier than if you were wearing say, Muska 902s. sometimes I worry about rolling my ankle when wearing them, but it hasn't happened yet. The material they are made of is not the most durable I have seen.
Personally, I loved Vans Geoff Rowley Classic shoes. I got them during the winter; they have a large hole in the toe right now, but even now they are still very skateable, and I skate them almost every day. I would recommend this shoe to someone who doesn't care too much about durability. It's not extremely durable, but it skates very well and looks good. I would imagine that it's basically useful for any kind of skateboarding, except if you're skating big gaps and drops. I think it is possible to use them for that but you have to get used to the landings.
