Lots of swearing, not suitable for younger readers.
General Comments
'Be More Chill' by Ned Vizzini is a completly different book to the type I would normally choose to read. It is about an uncool teenager, Jeremy, who is desperate to become more popular, he is so desperate he steals from his aunt, in order to pay for a piece of technology which would make him cool! He manages to be seen as 'cool' by other people and even Christine the girl he fancies notices him! How does he become cool? A Squip! After purchasing the squip, the book becomes funnier and more interesting. The little computer inside his head, the squip which talks to him, tells him what to say, and even gets him into trouble by telling him to drive his mum's car and do other crazy things. I'd recommend this book to anyone over 13, because of the amount of swearing and detail into certain issues contained in the book. It is overall quite good book, I didn't think I'd enjoy it much as the main character is a boy, but I thought the book was very cleverly written and quite interesting! I rate this book 7/10.
