Acoustic Solutions DS 633 Review: I recently purchased a 70W home cinema dolby system from Tchibo, and to be quite frank, it was rubbish. The speakers themselves looked ok but they only had a Prologic 2 decoder, and had to be hooked to a dvd player with inbuilt decoder. So I decided to move on to these from Argos. I was originally going to get the DS833 Beach ones, which are 105 W, these are 100W and I couldn't be happier with them. What do you get for £80?
>5x 15W Satellites
1X 25W Subwoofer
1X AUX Cable
1X Coaxial cable.
The box weights 11.5KG so you'll need a car to collect them from argos or Dixons.
The speakers sound fantastic, have inbuilt Dolby 5.1, Prologic II and DTS decoders. They also contain Optical, Coaxial digital connections, and 2 Aux connections for a TV, VCR or cd player etc.
The speakers themselves sound brilliant, with 5 sound settings or normal, the speakers can detect what source sound to use eg DTS or prologic, so making minimal effort from the user.
100W means a fair volume level, the DS 633 adjust from 00 - 40, with 14 being more than enough for me! Distorting effects occur at 37, but you will never need to go that high.
Overall a great setup! Go get a set before they sell out, if you have any questions either email me murphyl24@msn.com subject: DS633 Speakers, or you can post here.
