This is a follow-up to my two earlier reviews. I returned the model 953 to Daisy and they quickly replaced it and admitted that the rifle I returned to them was indeed defective. The new one they sent me is accurate at shorter distances such as up to 10 meter. They tested the replacement before they sent it out, at 10 meters and included their targets with the replacement. I still love the 5 round clips & one pump aspect.
The model 953 is just not designed for accurate shooting at longer distances such as 25 yards and over. In fact not real accurate beyond about 10 meters/ 11 yards. Five hundred feet per second just doesn't have sufficient punch to qualify as a hunting rifle.
In short; if you want to target shoot at distances up to 15 yards; the Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953 is a great rifle. If you want to hunt with it and shoot at game or targets 20 - 50 yards away, forget this rifle and get a 1000 FPS rifle.
