Stratford castle is set on its own 18 hole golf course which is stunning. The lake in front is gorgeous; the accommodation was luxurious and unique. the service and hospitality was second to none. The location was great as we had so many other golf courses close by to play. We were a group of 10 friends and we all had things we wanted to do. I particularly enjoyed the diving, was better than the Maldives. Summeveld stables and jockey academy was a beautiful place to enjoy breakfast and meet some owners and trainers who were very informative and helpful. the race tracks are all close by. The beaches are beautiful, the shopping malls are pristine (and cheap), the Zulu camps and game reserves are a must! All in all a fantastic beautiful place with some amazing people and things to do and such good value and service. We didn't need to ask for a thing, our welcome was like being home from home. Stratford Castle is a special place!

We didn't have time to go to the battlefields which is a shame.

Stratford Castle offered beautiful luxury accommodation; the breakfasts were fantastic, and waking up overlooking the lake and the sun shines seemingly everyday in the Kwazulu-Natal. The people are so hospitable we were taken by helicopter to watch the dolphins playing on the coast flying over the Valley o a 100 hills is breath taking. visiting local Zulu camps and true African bars with African food, drinks and hospitality. The golf courses are something else; the castle is set on its own course, with so many more to play locally, all world class with great scenery. the diving was amazing, plenty of sharks and wrecks. There are so many things to do so close to the castle we were really spoilt for choice. We visited the stables at Summerveld and met owners and trainers, enjoyed an early morning breakfast watching the horses train, we even was given hospitality in our own box at the Grayville Friday evening races. We were spoilt and pampered; my sister enjoyed being pampered in our own treatment room by beauticians who came to us. it was wonderful to sit enjoy a glass of wine in our hot tub on our secret roof garden over looking the lake. The local game reserves are a must! Go and see for yourself how amazing this castle is and what it offers for you to do, everything is such great value for money, it doesn't have to cost a fortune.
We had everything we could wish for, even our own chefs which prepared the most fantastic feast round our own table. We really couldn't ask for better holiday accommodation, a better place or better people. try it for yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed!
