Loving loyal companions
Affectionate
Beautiful
Can work out a bit pricey - only because they are addictive and if you buy one you normally find you will buy another within 12 months!
The Ragdoll is a semi longhaired giant of a cat. Be prepared for a male neuter when mature to be in the region of 15-22lbs, female neuters usually around 13-15lb. Breeding girls and stud boys usually weigh less than the neuters. There are three basic patterns, mitted, colourpoint and bicolour and quite a variety of colours now though the "traditional" colours are seal, blue, lilac and chocolate (newer colours are the red and cream, torties & tabbies). All ragdolls must have blue eyes - the deeper blue the better. Whilst the coats don't generally matt the cats should be brushed at least twice a week.
These cats don't fully mature until four years of age - as kittens their coats are very pale and gradually over the four years their colours will come out.
Prices usually start from around £300 for pet quality: £350+ show neuter, and £500+ for breed quality.
They are very trusting and should NOT be allowed to roam freely. We have four and we have enclosed our garden off so they do get to go outside, which they enjoy.
They are loyal, affectionate and very entertaining - there is never a dull moment with a raggie around.
