General Comments

With in excess of 350 of these roadside restaurants in the UK, there are bound to be some that do not quite meet the standard from time to time. Fortunately these are very few and far between. Since the chain of Little Chef restaurants opened in 1958, many competitors have come and gone. Some like "Happy Eater" have been bought over but the Little Chef chain continues ever onwards. Most are situated on the main "A" roads in and around the UK, though 29 or so are also situated in the major motorway service stops. Open from 7am until 10pm every day of the week, which covers the main busy times. Recently, the main menu has undergone a facelift and new meals have been introduced, with the old favourites like the "All Day Breakfasts" of course being retained. Afterall the chain made its name on providing good quality breakfasts, which continues to this day (and hopefully for the future)

The restaurant caters for all, whether the tired businessman needing a break from driving to the families with young children.

In fact children are particularly well catered for. Baby food is available free! The Under 12's are not forgotten either with their own menu, with foods they will recognise being readily available. In fact a current promotion is for every adult paying for a normal main course, a child u'12 eats for only 99p.

If you pay a visit to their website, www.little-chef.co.uk, you can download a 15% off voucher for free. (15% taken off your total food and drinks bill)

Doing a lot of driving (in excess of 20k a year) I tend to rely on these roadstops at all times of the day, especially late evenings. Generally I have found the staff to be just as friendly at the end of their shifts, as they were at earlier times in the day.

If you have any food allergies, like all restaurants, please make sure any waiting staff know!. I have found Little Chef staff to be well switched on, on this subject unlike a few other roadside stop restaurants I could name!

By the way I won't mention their desserts, as I am too partial to them ha ha ha ha especially some of the ice cream sundae's

Overall good value for money and well worth the stop.

Do you work for Little Chef?

Errrrrrrrrr please take a look at the rules, If I did work for them i would not be allowed to place the review!

Just credit where it is due, at least generally the ones I have visited. As I said I drive in excess of 20,000 miles a year. Like in all things there can be good ones and bad ones, but generally in my experience the standards have been reasonable to high.
