Better graphics
Better controls
Better menus
More weapons
Odd, different story-line
Same stuff all over
Short
Easy
Gets boring after awhile
Hmmm yeah, Silent Hill 4.
After I finished the game, defeating an uninteresting, disappointing, I have seen it comming from miles away end-boss, I think that this realy is the last one in the series.
I mean, there is nothing new here.
Sure, you're stuck in your apartment, but besides that, it's "Hey I can't open this door, hmmm, let's see now ... I need a key, oh gosh I forgot to check the t-shirt with the blood stains that holds the hidden number to open a gate to a secret room where you have to stop the water that is flowing to retrive the key. Yeah that is got be it, now I only have to WALK BACK AGAIN through the same rooms and same enemies which are not scary at all, in fact, more annoying and not doing the game any good".
Yep, thats Silent Hill 4 for ya.
Anyhows, I don't take the hype around survival-horror games seriously anymore, like, it's like 7 years ago Silent Hill and Resident Evil came around and where something different and enjoying, now after 7 years I have seen it all, and it's all the same stuff; and what puzzles me, they are still bringing out the same stuff over and over again in the survival-horror genre.
You know, you came up with something new, stuck in your room. Okay that's fine, but why all the same stuff again that we have seen dozens of times in previous Silent Hill games.
The end-boss was a joke and probably the worst one in the series.
I don't know, its not a exciting trip anymore like back then when we played these games.
Sure any 13 year old is gonna love this game.
Improved menus and realistic weapons are fine at least.
Graphics are, well as always, but at some spots, it kinda looks bad for a Ps2 game made in 2004.
I would wait and go for the Xbox version, if there is going to be one.
The puzzles in this game are incredibly easy, in fact, I didn't encounter any puzzle.
And the most important one, it's not scary.
Walking through a park attacked by a couple of dogs and bees with an A.I. of an bird, ... scary.
And the walking, human-like enemies, I was more like laughing at them, cause they make funny noises.
And yep, you can't go wrong these days, guess what, who have we here? Its Sadako from the movie Ring again, only this time her name is Cynthia, and she has less clothes on.
A girl with long hair covering her face is following you through the game, scaaaaaaaaaryyyyyyyyy !!!
Is that some scary stuff or what.
Anyways, I should stop, I think people got the point.
Only if you are a die-hard fan of Silent Hill games, and really have nothing else to do, then check it out I guess, but don't say after you finished the game and you have this feeling "this was it?" that I didn't tell you.
