General Comments

We were told that the Sea Star Hotel was a 3 star resort, with promises of a choice of 3 restaurants and several bars at out disposal, unfortunately only the main restaurant was open, which did not give a great deal of choice. Also suffered with an upset stomach, which started 2 days into our holiday. The staff were friendly enough, but there English is very limited especially if you are asking an awkward question. We did find out that the bars and restaurants were not open because it wasn't busy enough. Overall not recommended

My husband and I took a last minute cheap break to the Sea Star in Taba Feb - March 2006 and the Hotel was quiet, only one restaurant open but this did not spoil my enjoyment in fact the whole stay was superb and the little evening entertainment that was laid on was superb. The staff are excellent and attentive the rooms clean and the beach very well kept with good snorkelling. The few people staying at the hotel with us also enjoyed their stay immensely and with their company we required no extra bars or entertainment. This hotel is in fact ideally situated for anyone wishing to travel to other places. We visted, Petra in Jordan, Israel the Dead Sea and Jerusalem, and a two day trip to Cairo which was excellent all organised from the hotel by the Longwood travel reps on site. Eilat is only next door and watersports and diving is available easily in Taba. For anyone travelling on a budget this hotel was excellent value for money. The buffet was always good and varied in the retaurant being all inclusive drinks were not available in bottles unless you paid for them so everything was served by the glass.
