Stylish, light and airy interior, versatile, good handling, torquey engine
Flimsy build quality, poor dealer service, clutch squeals, odd electrics.
This Peugeot 307 SW 2.0 HDi is a good family car let down by poor build and sloppy dealer support. From the moment we picked up the car new it squeaked and rattled and this took over 6 months to reduce to a level that was not irritating. The electrics occasionally do wierd things like lights not working or CD player changing by itself to radio etc. The worst problem is an occasioal squeal from the clutch which sounds really bad but does not seem to make it slip. The dealer says there is no problem!
On the positive side it is a really versatile car, you can pack a lot into the back including odd shaped objects such as boat rudders and camping equipment. The 7 seats are really handy and being totally removable you have a lot of load space when you need it. We have been on 2 3000 mile family (2 adults 3x 10-15 year olds)camping tours in Europe towing a trailer and the car has been reliable and never showed any sign of strain.
It is also quick and economical and goes round bends without drama. The brakes work very well and it has a good safety package.
The driving position is slightly cramped for someone with long legs but I have managed 3 hours at a time without a problem.
