treecastle's Review of U.S. Bank (U.S. Bancorp)
8th Jul 2004
Overall Rating
Their "site was rated number one by financial consulting firm Speer & Associates"... okay, here's one good point, I suppose.
Bad Points
Customer service reps & bank tellers give inaccurate & inconsistent information. Company is inflexible & uncaring of ensuing financial hardships to customer based on the false info given by bank reps. Fees are assessed to banking customers regardless of the inaccurate info & guidance received, even for a previously unblemished account. Callers to Customer Service are denied access to upper management for problem resolution.
General Comments
U.S. Bank
Example: Bank teller advised that deposited funds from a well-known investment company would be available the next morning. I informed rep that it was critical that I have the money or I would not make the deposit, I would cash it elsewhere. Funds were not released until a week later causing me extreme financial problems & additional expense. I called customer service many times. One rep told me that any outstanding checks would clear, although funds were on hold. Again, false information. I received two $29 overdraft the day the funds were released. The bank refuses to do anything to remove the charges. During all of my calls to US Bank Customer Service, I was refused access to management. I have NEVER known a bank to block communication with upper executive levels. I have NEVER experienced such insensitive & uncooperative service by a bank. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH U.S. BANK.
Check out their so-called guarantee at: http://usbank.com/cgi_w/cfm/about/fivestarservice. cfm ...HOGWASH!! on 23rd Jul 2004I agree completly with this review. This bank has cost me several hundred dollars as a result of miss information given to me by a customer support person while attempting to close a personal loan. After 4 attempts to close this loan I am still being asked to pay more fees and they refuse to close it even after I have paid there required closing fees

Very accurate review. US Bank are horrible, insensitve and gouges people. They take advantage of people not knowing the rules, and charge horrible fees. They also couldn't care less how long you have been their customer. Their tellers are rude. Horrible Horrible Bank. Stay Away.

I agree with this review. I had to dispute a charge with US Bank where a store had double charged me $200. Had the bank handled the dispute, I would have had to wait 30 days for a credit and would have accrued innumerous bounced fees of $34 each, leaving my account empty. I had to contact the merchant directly to get my credit, and afterwards, I had to call US Bank EVERY DAY to ask them to reverse the accumulating, incorrect NSF fees! Stay away from them!!!

I found this review to be helpful. I always like to hear the actual experience, from a customer, rather than the frivolous hype of a bank. It doesn't sound like US Bank has much integrity or cares about its customers. Im avoiding US bank.
