Good Points

*Clean, spacious 4 star rating accommodation with a bath, shower and shower curtain! (Everywhere in Greece I have been so far has either not had a curtain or a hook to hold the shower in place).
*Free TV and air conditioning (deposit required for the remote controls).
*Location (1.5km to centre of Ayia Napa) approx 10 mins walk).
*Huge pool in main apartment blocks which over looks a beach (although it is very rocky). It also has a children's pool and another small pool behind the apartment's supermarket.
*Activities such as Water Polo, volleyball etc are run throughout the day. Also there is evening entertainment every night which is great for families.

Bad Points

The best beaches are in Ayia Napa centre (1.5km away) or Nissi Beach approx 2.5 km away. To get to Ayia Napa beach you walk out from the pool toward the sea onto the path that runs alongside the rocky beach / coastline, turn left and follow for 10 mins, you will reach a small harbour and a nice beach. To get to Nissi Beach, turn right and walk approx 20 mins. There are a few man-made beaches in both directions too, offering water sports such as Jet Skiing and Parasailing.

General Comments

Panas Village:
I booked a holiday to Cyprus as a late deal (I booked on Saturday and flew on the Sunday). My partner and I could not decide where to go, so when the operator at My Travel brought up an allocation on arrival to Cyprus (flying to Laranca), with a guaranteed 4 star rating property for £200, we decided to go for it.

Unfortunately the flight was a night flight, so we didn't arrive until 4.15am, I found the airport to be very well organised which surprised me as I worked in Corfu for 5 months as a transfer rep, and that airport was complete kaos! We waited approx 15 minutes for our luggage and then found our rep. The rep allocated us to Panas Village in Ayia Napa, I was quite happy to be in Ayia Napa, although my boyfriend was a little uncertain about the 18-30 image and he had heard that they don't play any music apart from Garage.

The journey took about 50 mins to get to the resort; we were the 3rd to be dropped off. The rep made sure we had the correct luggage and showed us to reception. We were waiting in reception for quite a while as there was only one person on reception and about 8 different parties being checked in.

The apartments are in blocks, each block has a ground floor and 1st floor apartment, we had a first floor apartment located near to the pool and bar / restaurant.

The rooms are really spacious, our room had two single beds put together to form a double, it also had a pull out sofa bed which would have been suitable for a child. The kitchen has an electric oven and 2 hob rings, a toaster, kettle and fridge. Plus all cooking utensils you require. The bathroom was nice and clean and had a bath, shower - and curtain! toilet and sink. We also had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The rooms also had free use of the air conditioning and TV, but you had to leave a deposit for the remote controls which you get back on safe return.

The complex itself has 1 large pool, children's pool and a small pool across the road in the blocks behind the complex's supermarket and indoor pool too. There is a Tennis court, gym, two volley ball nets - one in the water and the other on the grass by the pool. There is a bar and restaurant on the complex where you can opt to pay extra for halfboard and all inclusive at an extra cost.

The resort itself is great, nothing like what you would think, it is not mad everywhere you go, and not everywhere plays garage music! The resort is huge; along the main road from Panas walking towards the harbour are many karaoke bars, restaurants of many cuisines and shops. The harbour square has English pubs and cafes. If you choose to go left towards KFC, there are more restaurants selling international cuisine, such as Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese etc. The main square has many lively and modern pubs that play a variety of music such as 60's to 80's, R'n'b, dance etc. Most of the pubs close at 2am, then a selection of clubs open, the best in my opinion was the castle as you have 3 different rooms playing different music, and a chill out area. The best pub I thought was Craig's bar - it was one of the cheapest and stayed open 24hours (or so it says!) The toilets are horrible though! They are a karaoke bar.

I really enjoyed my two weeks in Ayia Napa and would go again, although it was a little in the expensive side! Please don't be put off by the 18-30 image it has!
