Great value for money.
Bad Points
Doesn't make a huge 'ting' sound when you hit it but that might be a good thing for some people.
General Comments
I am delighted with my Donnay slammer II 9.5 deg. driver. I payed only £25 for it from Lillywhites. I find it to be fairly forgiving especially as I am a beginner, it splits the fairway with most drives and you get a satifying little 'ting' when you hit the sweet spot which frankly is pretty big for a £25 driver. The other great thing about them is that they can be bought in 9.5 or 10.5 deg. depending on your preference and also can be bought with reg or stiff flex shafts. Also, when I was on the course the other day, my playing partner who uses a Taylormade R580 10.5 deg reg flex driver, borrowed my driver which cost 10% of his and hit a stronger, straighter drive than with his R580. Speaks for itself really!

I am guessing your buddy didn't get hold of his drive with his taylormade! I wouldn't base the performance of a driver on 1 shot! I have a Callaway Hyper X, which I can hit 320 yards, but occasionally I get it wrong and it only goes 100.
