A very classy looking vehicle with the full trim, i.e, leather, ac, multi change cd. An extremely comfortable drive and responsive.

Very thirsty on fuel, poor record for breakdown, and expensive to repair.
General Comments
I bought my Grand Voyager in 2002, second hand with a "full service history" all stamped by Chrysler main dealers. This was not worth the paper it was printed on. Within 5 months a belt tensioner snapped, thus smashing the radiator assembly, [whats that?] and when took for repair was told both cylinder head gaskets were leaking and advised to repair them while it was in dock. Cost £2,041, then my drivers airbag light came on, my horn stopped working and my cruise control stopped working, I had to have a full diagnostic, cost £35.00 and I had a clock spring replaced [whats that?] Then my car alarm started going off on its own, full dignostic £35.00, new alarm siren £195.00. A leak from the water pump, costly, I've had to have the gearbox solenoid bank repaired by a gearbox specialist £800.00, Alternator reconditioned £120.00,the list just seams to be never endind. If I could afford to get rid of it, it would be gone tomorrow. On top of all this, the ac doesn't work and the air blower selecter is faulty, the Chrysler dealer has quoted me £2000.00 to remedy it. In the two years that I have now had the car it has cost me approx £4500.00 in repair bills. This is my experiance I hope it helps, but you have to make your own mind up.

on 2nd Feb 2006I recognise some of these symptoms. After a visit to Chrysler for small adjustment suddenly found alarm going off on it's own, hazard lights flashing on their own, air bag light came on. After this visit the cruise control stopped working also. And original fault was never fixed properly! I have to wonder if this is a serious service centre fault, not a car fault?

The horn failing to work, plus the airbag light on (and usually cruise control not switching on) is, as they correctly diagnosed, the clockspring. Why they charged you to tell you this I have no idea. This is a known fault, with a product recall on the Voyagers to replace it, FOR FREE. I would go back to the dealer and demand your money back on this, and if they won't give it to you, contact Chrysler UK Head Office. I've found them VERY helpful when certain dealers are being snotty (I have a few Grand Voyagers). One dealer was so arrogant he wouldn't even tell me what a part number was so I could order it. He told me that he wasn't allowed to pass it out. Another dealer just read it to me over the phone, and suggested I order it directly from the States as it was far cheaper (my Air Con Compressor).

hey we too own a chrysler grand voyager and sure it the cruise control dont work and the airbag light turns on and of as it feels free, was told last week its the clock spring it will cost £156 to replace it,ours is a 1997-98 just wondered how you find out if ours was recalled, also other problems experienced was a noise when braking replaced the brake pads noise reoccured had the brake discs replaced then had the wheel hub and bearings replaced due to this strange screachin noise finally solved the noise issue only to fail the mot on the track rod end, also a/c dont work was told the a/c condensor unit cracked and the pipe perished wear and tear or another problem with chrysler also maybe useful but ours is converted to lpg gas(uk) which caused us to have a blown baffle box twice due to back fireing, but on the whole maybe costly to own one of these but the best mpv you will ever find for space and size ladylee1979

Hey there i own one too, clock spring and what not need sorting but had an odd alarm sound goes off randomly, does not sound like the car alarm more like a piercing whoooop whoooop noise and it wont stop when I try anything, just stops on its own but only happens when engine is off, if I start the car it doesn't stop it.
Hope anyone can help it ' s driving me crazy, no pun intended.stormboston on 27th May 2009
Ditto, We are in a similar position, same problems and more. remortgaging the house may be the only answer!!! Shall we keep spending in the hope that 'once this jobs done it will be fine' or face reality and scrap it

Whats the best used 7 seater? Not people carrier! in The AnswerBank:
I know all the bad press about 4x4s etc, but I hate people carriers. What decent 7 seater can you recommend, must be reliable and not too expensive on servicing.

I also experienced all of the above. I also can add a new transmission which set me back $5000.00 AUD.
Thanks Chrysler.
