Bad Points

Very few bad points. The location means to get to the beach or bars you have quite a trek up a STEEP hill or steps. Not recommended for people with walking difficulties. Not very much shade at pool side. Only a small cover over a few tables by the snack bar and were told we couldn't sit there if we weren't having food. Which was a problem, as my partner is very fair skinned.

General Comments

Puerto Del Carmen, Luz Y Mar Apartments - After reading the reviews on the "Luz y mar" apartments, worried was not the word!!! But upon ariving at the complex, we were more than pleasantly surprised at the standard of accomodation. We were staying at the "Luz" so I cannot speak for the "Mar" but the rooms were fantastic, we had ceramic hobs, microwaves, full kitchen utensils, the bathroom and bedroom were spacious and clean. All in all, we didn't have a bad word to say about the actual apartment! The balcony was large with sunbeds three chairs and a table, still with room to spare! In close proximity were 2 supermarkets (the "Netto" is the better) restaurants right outside the hotel. Shopping centre a three minute walk, and a 5 - 10 minute walk to the beach with the beach front bars and shops. Only about 1/4 of an hour walk to the old harbour which was lovely, with plenty of fish restaurants. I'd definitely recommend the luz y mar, we had a fantastic holiday, all the staff were friendly, and apartments were great and with not much distance to go for any of the main amenities.
