Good Points

Great for portraits, close ups, long distance and scenery shots. Self portrait, autozoom, autofocus and night time (moonlight only. settings are amazing. Fantastic for always getting the subject in focus and filling the picture from any distance. Even works well indoors without the flash in artificial light.


Bad Points

Need to steady the camera at full zoom (x30)- more a limatation of the photographer than the camera! Dont forget to activate the red-eye its got a blinding flash!


General Comments

Totally agree with Geoff in previous review regarding the technicalities. I bought my Olympus C-740UZ digital camera after painstaking research and have not been disappointed with the results.
This is my second Olympus, having upgraded from my old faithful 100 series, and this is light years ahead in functionality, but so simple to use. I bought it originally to take pictures at my daughters wedding. My only disappointment was that I paid several times as much to have a professional photographer to do the official photos - the quality of my prints on A4 glossy using an Epson inkjet was superior to the photographers !
Took 300 indoor photos in one day - only changed the batteries and downloaded the memory once.

    This is an excellent little camera - but despite thinking it's really great I feel these ratings are too high.
    This would also make a good second and camera for someone now that it is out of production.
    My Mum is using mine on long term loan - and she is getting some impressive shots of birds in her garden!
