- Value for money

For a fantasy book written by a teenager, Eragon: Inheritance exhibits a good deal of depth and is exciting enough to keep a reader interested from cover to cover. It is definately worth a read if you enjoy the fantasy genre.
While it does seem that the author tends to borrow on other works of sci-fi and fantasy for certain story elements, there is an adequate amount of originality as well. And one can't be too harsh on this point anyway; there are few works within this genre today that are completely original.
The writing style is very good and reads smoothly, though to me it seemed slightly unpolished, which is to be expected from so young an author. I'll be looking forward to seeing how Paolini develops as a writer; I believe we may be able to expect even greater things out of him in a few years.
