Entertaining, good graphics, useful words
Somewhat tedious, disorganized
My children were excited at first with this KidSpeak 6 In 1 childrens language software. They played with the games, were engaged by the audio feedback and even learnt a few words. But within the space of a day or two, they quickly got bored. The approach relies too much on repetition, and the games are very similar.
If a child is motivated to learn a language then it's probably better than traditional courses (or the dreaded language class in school), but as a way to get kids excited about learning a language, it doesn't succeed.
I also felt that the level was set too low. Perhaps ideally suited to 5-6 year olds (but then they aren't able to engage with the written text).
All in all, not a bad effort, but it doesn't quite achieve it's aim.
There's a new online course available in Hebrew that may appeal to children and adults alike (see www.learnhebrewonline.com and review elsewhere). For the other languages, I'd probably choose Rosetta Stone (they have online and software courses). For Spanish or French, you could also try www.doki.tv.
