General Comments

Jellied Reels like to mix the old classic irish and scottish tunes with a bit of old fashioned rock 'n roll.

They started the evening with a "easy dance", and the did get gradually harder, but nothing that anyone won't be able to do. The tunes provided a great backing to the caller who has orchestrated this dance for us to do, and gets you dancing like professionals within minutes.

Steve Howe and accordian mixes things in the evening as he does seem to be the one calling the shots. He changes the band from the irish tunes into an interseting version of 'She'll be coming round the mountain' and instead of ending the song changes it to 'Blue Suede Shoes'.

Just when you think you have had enough of dancing, the caller dissapears and all of sudden you find yourself doing your own old-fashioned moves along to great randitions of Mustang Sally and Hit The Road Jack. In these songs Dave Good on guitar really gets his chance to shine.

They even stay true to their name throughout the evening as for who they believe to be great dancers, get treated to....wait for it.... a jelly baby out of their very own Berty Bassett!

All in all Jelied Reels are definatly a band to get in touch with if your planning a special occasion.
