Good Points

Cheap, large ammunition capacity, economical CO2 consumption, compatable with BBs, darts and pellets, good power.

Bad Points

Fragile, poor trigger, loud, looks like a toy, and fairly poor accuracy.

General Comments

OK, the good points first. The Crosman Auto Air 2 only costs 35 dollars if you buy it at a local sporting goods store, perhaps 5-15 dollars more if you buy off the internet. It can hold up to 17 BBs in the internal magazine, and I get about 70 shots out of one CO2 powerlet in mine. In addition, it can fire BBs semi-automaticly, and pelets or darts single-shot, and at 480 fps for BBs and 430 fps for pellets, it has plenty of power for a pistol. However, the exterior is made entirely of plastic, so I am constantly worried that the extentions (such as the rear sight and the BB slide) will break. The BB slide in particular is annoying. It sticks out, making the gun difficult to holster, and I am contantly worried that it will snap off. The trigger is hard to pull and has to go back a about half an inch till the gun fires, and there is no break to it, just a steady pull all the way back. The noise is comparable to that of my spring-piston .22 rifle, and it looks more like a capgun than a sidearm. It has poor accuracy anywhere beyond 5-10 yards, but I am told that this is a common feature of BB pistols. All in all, it's fun for using up ammunition, or , for poeple who don't care about accuracy, plinking, or for finishing off that cotontail that your rifle didn't kill with one shot, but as a serious pistol, you will have to move to a higher price range.
