New complex, new equipment, air conditioned, free use of DVD's.
Pool is a little small 18 x 6m, but does not usually get crowded. No water machine.
I joined FX Leisure last week. The offer attracted me - No joining fee, no fitness assessment fee and it is only £33 per month to use the facilities during the day or at night (offer open to the first 100 applicants). I used to go to the Village gym where it was £50 to join, £15 for a fitness assessment and £44 per month.
Last night I had my induction, I was introduced to one of the staff, she told me to fill in a couple of forms about my health, then it was off to the gym. I was told that she would be my personal trainer, she had me working really hard and motivated me, she gave me a target to work to on a couple of the machines and explained the benifits of each machine to me. After a half hour session she gave me a timescale of a couple of weeks to work to the targets she had set for me, then I have another personal session.
The gym itself is a fair size, there are plenty of cardiovascular machines and weight machines, there is a fitness studio, a cycle studio for a specific class, a small room with more cardio equipment and a pool. The building is fully airconditioned.
The best thing about the gym is that you can take a DVD home to watch for free! They have the lateset releases and old classics. I recommend this gym to everyone.
