General Comments

Is a restarunt? is it a pub? no its Chef and Brewer!

There is a slight confusion to what kind of establishment this is. Now for instance there's no stools at the bar, like you would find in a pub but there is a huge menu selection also packed with daily specials like a restraunt. You order at the bar, like in a pub but candle light suggests different.

Apart from the fact that it's harder to figure out than Michael Jackson it does clearly have more good points than it does bad.

The best parts for me is that Chef and Brewer (owned by Scottish and Newcastle PLC) are one of the rare companies left that are not afraid to kit out the full on 'ye-old' English look, and its all the better for it. The menu context is huge, as I mentioned also along with lots of nice daily specials selecetd by the trained chefs. There should always be something to please all of the family, maybe even the mother-in-law on this occasion.

The only real down sides to the chain is the prices, they're not very dear but not very cheap. The most pain your wallet feels is when just the bar bill comes in but the portions of food do make up for the price.

The only other thing is ordering at the bar, even if you run low on drink half way through your meal you may have to queue at the bar.

A slight high point in this selected chain of the brand was possibly the landlord. David Brent meets Basil Fawlty, it was hillarious to watch, but don't let him catch you!

All in all a very enjoyable family evening out, give it a go, you might find yourself having a good time.
