omayj's Review of Bank Of Scotland Current Account
9th Jun 2004
Overall Rating
- Customer Service

- Ease of use

Online banking and telephone banking avaiable 24/7.
Bad Points
Staff undertrained on new Halifax systems.
Constant errors in the most basic instructions.
No ownership or resolution of problems.
Very little choice - no tailoring of their accounts for different types of people.
General Comments
I requested a transfer of £1000 from my Bank of Scotland Current Account to my husband's account (we do this each month), they told me they'd done it. My husband then paid his credit card bill for us to find out 5 days later that they had only transferred £100. For him to get back his unauthorised overdraft charges I have to prove that I told them to transfer £100 and not £1000.
Customer services staff are undertrained on Halifax procedures now adopted.
Telephone banking staff are rude and unhelpful and unwilling to offer solutions to problems.
The phrases 'it wasn't me who dealt with that' or 'I can only apologise' are frequent.
