Good Points

Superb large screen, quality looks and feel. Generally impressive phone.

Bad Points

Slightly bulky - may not be a problem for everyone though.
Awful implementation of T9 for texting.
No Bluetooth

General Comments

I can't fault my new Samsung SGH-D410 mobile phone, other than for texting, and it being slightly bulkier in my jeans pocket than my last phone. I happily tolerate the size though, for the sake of the large screen. I'm trying wearing it on a cord around my neck, with the phone down inside my t-shirt, especially when at work.

Most of the ringtones are disappointing to me. There are a handful that are nice, but only two or three that I'd consider using. Its a shame that Samsung didn't make better use of this phone's improved sound capabilities. Some of the tones are truly awful, and there isn't even a more traditional type of phone sound.

I'm used to using T9 predictive text, but this phone has the hugely irritating habit of always defaulting back to capitals after entering punctuation (which is a clunky operation). Also, if I have pre-selected lower case, it continues to type in lower case even after entering a full-stop. My little old Siemens C55 was intelligent enough to begin a new sentence with a capital letter, and punctuation and symbols were far easier to enter than on the Samsung D410.
Having said that, no doubt I will get used to it, and this is probably not a concern for many texters.

The camera gives reasonable results. The photos look quite good on the camera screen, but I haven't yet transferred any to my computer. You can make short video clips, and even apply some effects to your photos.

The Samsung D410 is a lovely high-quality phone, the colour screen is always a delight, the menues are nicely designed and some of the games are even worth playing. I'm glad I chose it.
