Good Points

Accurate and Powerful.

Bad Points

The cheek piece doesn't have enough wood on it, which makes it difficult to bring your face in good contact with the gun.

General Comments

Beeman Mako II (a.k.a. Daystate LR90)
The stock is beautiful. I don't like the bolt handle. I prefer the brass bolt handle of the Mako I. The trigger is not on the same level as a 10-meter match air rifle, but it is very good. You cannot adjust the trigger down to 4 oz like in a match rifle. The trigger is smooth and the let-off is crisp; however it has a long travel. I think it is because its design for hunting (safety reason).

This rifle is light weight. If use for hunting, it is ideal. However since I use it for silhouette competition, it is about 2 pounds too light. The rifle does balance well in the standing off-hand position; however the light weight allows the gun to wobble more, and wobble faster.

I was worrying about two things. Because these two things I cannot fix on this gun, the rest of the problem mentioned above I can fix,
(1) The accuracy of the gun.
(2) The velocity of the gun from shot to shot because it doesn't have a regulator.

I test for accuracy using 4 types of pellets
(1) Beeman Kodiak
(2) Beeman Crow magnum
(3) Beeman FTS
(4) AOA FT (same as JSB Exact)

Of the 4, the Beeman FTS shoot the tightest group, but one thing disturbs me, once every 8 to 10 shots, there's a "flyer". This happens on several occasions. So now I switched over to AOA FT. The AOA FT group almost as well as Beeman FTS. At 20 yards, the AOA FT shoots 3 shoots in rag one hole. I have no experience of a "flyer" for the AOA FT.

The Mako II has problem feeding Beeman Kodiak. I think it is because the pellet is little too long. The Beeman Crow magnum performs the worst out of the 4 pellets.

Now for velocity
I tested it out by filling it to different pressure and shot it via a Beta chrony. I was pleasantly surprise at the result. If fill between 2500 to 2800 psi, the gun will give you 20 good shots. The velocity between the first shot and the last (20th) shot is only 35 fps difference. Well what does this means in terms of drop/accuracy. Between the first shot and the 20th shot, it drops 1/4 inch at 45 yards. Another pleasant surprise is that the muzzle velocity is almost the same weather you fill it to 2500 psi or 2800 psi.
