Good Points

Solid weight, realistic safety, trigger motion. No annoying screw at the bottom, nice, long rifled barrel. Good handling. Double-safety system makes accidental discharge very unlikely.

Bad Points

Shoots a bit high, sights can't be adjusted for elevation. Grip safety may take some getting used to.

General Comments

Have the Walther CP99 and Colt 1911 A1, two different guns with different characteristics. The Colt is my favorite. Single-action trigger is crisp and after a few firings one can tell where the break-off is. Double action is a longer pull, but not nearly as long as the CP99. Nice to be able to cock the hammer to go to single action, versus having to pull back a slide. The main dislike I have is the inability to adjust the sight elevation without buying or customizing your own set. Shop around and you can get it for a pretty decent price, paid $160 for the black model.

shelxcns mate, don't go paying that much for the more standard version! I have written a review on the colt with a web address where you can get the best colt (without the compensators etc.) for just £125. I mean the colt in nickel with nice wooden grips. the black colt you talk of can be bought for a minimum of £98.00 anyway just trying to help, you cant go wrong by saving £20-£100 or dollars, come to think of it. I've been on sites where the nickel colt is being sold at prices around $300. Outrageous.

You're stating pound prices on the other side of the Atlantic ocean. What I paid is the best I've found in the US, in US dollars, not British/English/UK pounds. Most places in the States are selling the black colt for around $190-220.

Fair shout, although converted £98 is in USD: $180. A saving depends what you want. I was of course talking about the website I mentioned in review, you could buy one from the other side of the world, just dont matter. although I admit it, I should have checked my facts before writing, because you are, as I keep forgetting, living in America.

Thanks for the info, hopefully it will help someone else. I did pay less that the site you mentioned, I paid $160, which is $20 less than the conversion of 95 pounds to $180 dollars.
