Good Points

The Hotel Jupiter was a lovely hotel and the chamber maids were excellent and so friendly. Reception was good and tried to be as helpful as they could. The bedrooms were a good size and balconies as well.

Bad Points

The only bad point in our opinion was that there was not enough drawer space for storing clothes and the wardrobes were too narrow for the coathangers.

General Comments

Praia Da Rocha, Jupiter Hotel - We arrived at the Hotel Jupiter around 8.45 pm and we were told just to leave our luggage at reception and point it to the porter with our room number and to go right into the dining room where a hot meal was waiting for us. To me this was an excellent reception as being so late in arriving the most we expected was something cold. True to their word our luggage was delivered to our room whilst we had our meal.

The room was clean, big and the beds were very comfortable. We had a fridge (no charge), hairdryer in the bathroom and a safety deposit box all in our room. The bathroom and shower were brilliant and always loads of VERY HOT water no matter what time of the day or night. At first we had a slight problem with the safe as I couldn't get the key to work but within minutes someone was there to have it sorted out.

We were on a half board basis the first week and breakfasts were buffet and a great selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts, cooked meats, cheeses, etc., and always a hot dish as well. Plenty coffee, hot chocolate, juices and water. There was always something at dinner that suited everyone and the soup was always hot. It was waiter service and sometimes a bit slow but there were a lot of people to be served so they could have done with extra staff.

The swimming pool was very clean but also VERY COLD as the weather was not very good and therefore not hot enough to heat the pool. But no-one can arrange the weather. All in all we had a most enjoyable two weeks in the Hotel Jupiter and it is in an excellent location for all the local buses going around the Algarve and as far as Lisbon.
