Good Points

High end quality interior, mechanics well thought-out, hairy acceleration, full time all wheel drive, gertrag 6-speed, wide tires std, infinity sound system, overall car is extremely reliable.

Bad Points

Wing obstructs rear vision, incompetent dealership, seats uncomfortable over long trips, no height in rear storage space, rear seats are worthless.

General Comments

I've had the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 for 7 years with the only failure being the screw thread that raises and lowers the moonroof. I had seen the reports on the bad 5-speed tranny so I waited and got a 95' with the german gertrag 6-speed, no problems yet. It's a good thing the car has been so reliable (74k) because the dealer doesn't have a clue and confirms every bad story you've ever heard. After the initial lag due to weight there's not much on the road that won't get left in the rear view by this car, except the porsche turbo, just absolutely ridiculous power. Mine's mostly stock except for a small breather and exhaust tweak and consistently clocks 0-60 in under 5 seconds. There is no wheelspin and this is where you can almost always catch your opponent and end the race before it starts, depending on conditions you can start in second gear. The interior is on a par with all but the most expensive cars and I added jl audio glass tops and sub to the upgraded infinity stereo - this lacks nothing. I don't dog the car but if you need more power it's easy to double. Car gets scheduled maintenance and my other cars are bmws. Honestly this car has it all.
