General Comments

The Benjamin Crosman EB17 Co2 Pistol just might be the finest CO2 pistol in the world. Mine is in .20 and the power on a new co2 is phenomonal. The power is sufficient to rival some rifles and the stopping power of a .20 cylinrical pellet at 430fps is enough to take small game at up to 15-20yds. The trigger is light but has an indeffinate release point making it hard to get comfortable. Despite this the accuracy is great. At 20yds the groups are about an inch wide and two inches tall. I prefer the cylindrical pellets to th Crosmans because they seem to penetrate better. A scope mount is available but with the Iron sights giving Headshot accuracy out to 15yds I dont see the point of putting one on and not being able to holster it. Incedentally I do a lot of Mountain biking here in Manitoba on rural trails and the EB20 is always holstered to my side and is comfortable and accesable while never seeming to notice the abuse it takes from my nasty spills. Great gun and one purchase that I will be never be far from.

   I'm thinking of ordering this pistol and probably will, but I hear it's loud. does anyone know of a silencer that will fit it?

   Yes It is a very loud pistol as it expels a co2 cylinder in 25 shots. As I am not in the UK silencers are not available but browsing the UK airgun sites there seem to be many slip over silencers available that with some trial would fit it. Unfortunately the front sight would get in the way and the CO2 knob for under barrel insertion would not be removable with the silencer installed. Solution: file down front sight and install intermounts for reddot sight, and remove silencer before insertion of CO2

   No space between barrel and front of body even for a slip on silencer. Could you braze an extension or fit an extended barrel? Chambers Gunsmiths in Scotland sell barrels 4.5,5.0 and 5.5.
   However never having fully dismantled my EB17 I am not sure if it is possible to change a barrel.

   Is this EB 17 the same as mine which doesn't show any markings such as EB 17 but has E9A SERIES???
   I live in the UK and want to buy some walnut grips. Could you let me know if they are one of the same model please before I order..
