General Comments

The Ronin 215 DVD Player is basically the same as the 215f, but with only two channel dolby. It is based on the MT1379 chip. which is widely used by diffrent manufactures. Note all dvd players which use this chip therefore have the same problems

The current firmware allows the region to be changed, but also disables RGB video output on scart resulting in reduced quality of picture and therefore only allowing a composite video output. You can how ever get the firmware down graded to an old verion which turns on the RGB video output. Dum Huh....

On the good points it does have a 3D sound processor built-in and plays mp3 and jpeg and the remote is better layed out than some of the other cheap models. the player does not support progressive scan, DIVX or MPEG4. The multi region hack code is the same as the maxim 11-21 player. if the player was £29 then it is probably an ok buy on the other hand if it was £39, then look else were.
