A great sporty feel for such a small engine. Good quality stereo system. The remote controls on the steering wheel I would not be without now.
Like any car if you put your foot down it will eat some serious fuel and being injected this adds to the bill!
No ABS
I have black 3 door 1.6 Y plate Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SXi. Unfortunately no alloys but am looking to uprgrade soon. I have had only one problem and that was with the passenger seat angle adjustment. Vauxhall charged me £50 for the privalage of fixing it though!
Generally a great car though, sporty and can do the MPG if your careful and not right foot heavy. May be better in the 1.8? Previous car a VW golf 2.0 GTI, and I would say the performances are compareable. Can't imagine that the 1.6 is that far off performance wise. Although the bigger induction kit that I have fitted may have made a difference. Handling is amazing. Holds on to the road well. Just as well as some of the BMW's that I have driven recently. Good car for a young driver (like myself, at 18 with 1 years no claims, insurance comes in at £1000, which is good by todays standards!) insurance is relatively cheap and genuinely a good looking car that will get attention.
