Good Points

Cheap, great many functions, good software.

Bad Points

Flash too powerful (and flashes when not really needed), feels a bit flimsy and is a bit bulky.

General Comments

I have enjoyed using this Canon PowerShot A300 Digital camera as a point and shoot and found that using the amanual settings have enhanced the picture quality no end.

Without using the flash the picture quality is great, with it on automatic it will flash when it is still light enough for it not to be used and can make the picture look rather garish.

It is very large and platicky in comparison to other cameras on the market, but despite initial impressions it is very sturdy.

The batteries that are included with the camera run out very quickly, but if you buy some high quality rechargeables they last for a good couple of days prior to needing charging. The only problem is that the camera gives no warning when the camera is about to run out of batteries - so always carry a spare set!
