Good quality photographs and ringtones


Bad Points

Oh where to start!! Turns itself off and on at a whim, turns off whenever attempt to send text messages, turns off whenever expecting important calls. Enquire with Orange and apparently this is perfectly normal and does not require replacement.


General Comments

I have had this Panasonic GD87 mobile phone since October 2004 and have had problems with it since the second month when it began turning itself off whenever I sent text messages: the record being 24 re-starts in the space of one text - very frustrating. I have phoned Orange on countless occasions in order to be told that this is perfectly normal and "no a replacement phone is not required, and no they will not repair it as there is nothing wrong with it".

After bugging them for a long while they gave me the number of Panasonic customer service who immediately sent me a jiffy bag to return to them in order that it be repaired. The phone was duly returned to me by Panasonic with the memory wiped (as expected!) and the problem not resolved! Screen still restarts atleast once during each message. Called Orange - not their problem.

Eventually got so fed up that I swapped my GD87 for my friends three and a half year old Sony - the relief of being able to send a text message again has to be experienced to believe!

Do not touch this phone with a barge pole!
