Good Points

Hugely improved lightsaber combat, choice system of force powers, ability to go to the dark side of the force, new force powers.


Bad Points

Same weapons as outcast, similiar engine to outcast, not exactly a quantum leap beyong outcast.


General Comments

I Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, it's a flawed classic, the lightsaber combat is excellent, the force powers are excellent, I loved all the little touches too, like choosing your lightsaber, picking your force powers, building your own character, it was all great stuff, the game was hugely enjoyable to play. It's a large improvement over outcast, removing its flaws, such as the long wait for the lightsaber and the lack of level variety. But the more things change... the more they stay the same, the engine has changed little, the graphics are not exactly stellar, and the weapons are basically a carbon copy of outcast's. Basically the developers have thrown in some new force powers, added some customisable options, removed some of the more obvious flaws from outcast and went and put the title on the shelf. But for all this its still a great game, what annoys me about Jedi Acadamy wasn't what it was, but what it could have been, it could have been so much better if the developers had bothered to really put in the effort, but as it stands Jedi Acadamy is a great game, instead of the must have classic it could have been, still though, if you see it and you like star wars, pick it off the shelf, you'll love the game, even if you'll end up a little dissapointed.
