Good Points

Print quality can be very good depending on the amount of black in the image. Copying of photographs can be first class.

Bad Points

Black ink smudges.
Software incompatible with my laptop PC.
Plug and play recognition very slow.

General Comments

The HP software did not load cleanly even after adding more memory according to advice from the HP helpline. I still cannot use the HP PSC1210 Multifunction Printer to scan properly.
Black ink smears over the page where there are heavy black areas in the text or image. This may be just a bad cartridge. I am waiting hopefully for a better result with a second cartridge.
It takes over a minute for the USB drivers to load after the HP PSC1210 is switched on. I find this very annoying.
