Good Points

It's fast, reliable engine, cheap parts. Maximum speed whatever it shows mine shpws 140 but I only done 135.

Bad Points

I have only had 1 problem with it and it was distributor and fixed very cheap.

General Comments

I've had my Rover 216 GTI for nearly 2 years wouldn't change it to any other car. For that cheap price it's got great engine. With some adjustments to the engine I take on BMW328. Plus it's got the looks ;)

Did the person in the 328 know that you were racing him? I dont think this really happened! unless you've put nos in your box? As for as handling goes, well it doesn't really its like concrete tyres on a frosty morning.

Haha, nice "I take on BMW328"

Dream on, unles you take on and lose!

I have a 328 now, which is faster than my Saxo VTS was, which was leaps and bounds quicker than my previous car 216gti 16v.

Oh, and 135 on the clock, proly about 115 in real life. possibly worse if you have changed the tyres or wheels from standard size.

If you are going to advise people, advise them correctly please.

no he is in fact correct, they will do 135mph. perhaps you had the 16v single overhead cam. typical of a beemer driver.
